Create a community for a brand on Twitter

Categories: Strategy

Many brands are coming on Twitter at the moment. Each of them try to create their own community. That’s a good thing but many of them did not get the tool and how to interact with people online. For example, many of the new Twitter users come and add hundred of followers and hope them to follow back. That sounds a bit like a SPAM. Generally, I don’t follow back (I don’t think to be alone to do so). I wrote this article after several experiences I had as a freelancer and with @FC_Nantes.

1 – Design your Twitter page

First thing to do is to introduce yourself to the community. Nothing complicated… you just need an avatar, a quick bio and an URL to know more about you (your website/blog if you have one or a Social Media profile such as LinkedIn or -if it’s public & relevant- Facebook). Twitter enables its users to design almost everything on your page so enjoy! If you want to know more on this point go on this Mashable’s article.

Tof’Selection #29/ The Olympus Pen

Categories: Tof'Selection

Today, a very special selection dedicated only to a legendary camera: the Olympus Pen. This camera is quite unique. Indeed, its lenses were high quality ones and it was a half-frame camera. For example, with a 36 photo roll, you take 72 photos. It has been one of the best seller of Olympus, more than 17 millions units were sold in the sixties/seventies. If you want to more about, go on the Olympus website.

I did not know this camera before working at The Furnace, I had the chance to work on the launch of the Olympus E-P1 in Australia, the digital version of the Pen actually. Of course, the digital one sounds excellent (interchangeable lenses, Raw/Jpeg, HD movies, small size…), however, after all my researches on the subject, I want to discover the original. For several weeks, I looked for the F edition on eBay and several other websites. Guess what? I’m surprised… It’s rare and expensive.
