Apple changed, didn’t they?

Categories: Strategy

Since that Steve Jobs is back in 1997, Apple changed a lot. They can’t be considered anymore as a funky challenger…
iPod/iTunes enabled Apple to control the music market. iPhone is one of the most sold smartphones on the global market. Yes, Apple became a leader. I would say the same kind of leaders they’ve been fighting or joking about for a long time…

I think we should keep an eye on several points that could change the Apple’s situation in the next months or years:
- Steve Jobs was off because of his severe cancer, now, we don’t know if he’s still able to give the same energy and idea to lead the company as far as he did before…
As we know how important he was in Apple’s redevelopment, it could represent a serious problem.
- Apple’s image is changing, do the numerous Apple fans will continue to buy the next Apple’s product ?
- Spotify and other interesting music streaming websites (such as Jiwa or Deezer for example) sounds more and more interesting. They just came to mobile, Spotify and Deezer just released their mobile app. for iPhone and HTC. The possible connection between Spotify and Facebook could bring new serious threats as well on the music market.
- Apple’s behaving like big leaders… restrictions, protections and all these unpleasant stuffs appeared on their softwares or OS. Double Twist will on the 6th of october an universal software to deal with your content on your devices (iPod, iPhone, Blackberry, cameras…), we can imagine a big success for these kind of softwares. Have a look to their spot, it will remind you another one for sure !
